Arrow Stage Lines Partners with Heroes in the Rough

More than 30,000 brave service men and women have returned home wounded from the Afghanistan and Iraq War, relentlessly impacting their lives and their families. The statistics do not lie, “22+ veterans commit suicide everyday due to mental issues, depression and PTSD”, staggering numbers that are just unacceptable! Arrow Stage Lines Hero Project has one main goal: To give back to those in need. Arrow Stage Lines has partnered with Heroes in the Rough in Las Vegas, Nevada. Heroes in the Rough’s mission is simple – To provide rehabilitative experiences through golf and family-inclusive opportunities for wounded veterans from EVERY conflict in an effort to improve the quality of life for these American heroes. “We are forever grateful to all of our service men and women who risk their lives to uphold our freedoms and keep us safe in the United States of America.” said Arrow Stage Lines CEO, Steve Busskohl. “I believe that is it our duty to give back to these amazing people, and I think that Heroes in the Rough is such a great organization for that.” Arrow Stage Lines is a proud sponsor of Jim Rice, who is one of the Golf Heroes. Jim joined the Army directly out of high school and spent five years on active duty.  His last assignment was with the 1st Cavalry Division based out of Fort Hood.  A head injury forced him to leave military service in 1997.  He eventually found his way to Henderson, NV where he settled down.  Jim suffers from a TBI, PTSD, and a lower back injury that affects feeling in his legs.  He is rated at 60% by the...

Arrow Stage Lines and Employees Complete a Series of Green Certification Programs

Arrow Stage Lines, and The Certification for Sustainable Transportation (CST) have announced that 100% of motorcoach operators have completed the CST’s EcoDriver and Idle Free Certification Programs and 100% of their vehicles have been eRating certified. Company officials were pleased with the announcement and expressed their enthusiasm for the program. Arrow Stage Lines COO Luke Busskohl said “This program is crucial for us right now. With all of the green initiatives, we are proud to partner with the University of Vermont to put our drivers through the Idle-Free and Eco-Driver training.” The CST is a mission-driven non-for-profit program housed at the University of Vermont. It’s mission is to: reduce greenhouse gas and other harmful emissions, increase energy efficiency, and to promote the use of alternative fuels and new technologies. Similar to how Energy Star works in the appliance sector, the CST accomplishes its work largely through three programs: its eRating vehicle certification, an Eco-Driver certification program, and an Idle-Free driver certification program. Arrow Stage Lines and its employees began the process to have its vehicles and drivers certified in early 2016 and since then, all of their motorcoach operators have completed the CST’s EcoDriver and Idle Free training courses. The driver training courses teach drivers an array of EcoDriving practices as well as how to avoid unnecessary idling. These programs can help drivers save fuel and reduce the environmental impacts of their vehicles. Each qualifying vehicle in the company’s fleet received an eRating certification based on a variety of environmental criteria. The CST’s Director, Dave Kestenbaum, said of Arrow Stage Lines, “We were very pleased with the level of...

Elite Maintenance – Why Does It Matter?

Elite Maintenance – Why Does It Matter?

Elite maintenance is a large part of the culture at Arrow Stage Lines, but some might ask why? Their elite maintenance team across all 13 Arrow Stage Lines locations is what sets them apart from the competition. Whether it is the countless hours put into preventative maintenance or the quick turnaround for a broken motorcoach, it seems as if Arrow is always on top of it. Why is maintenance so important? At Arrow Stage Lines, they believe that it is a one of the most crucial parts of their business. A customer poll over the course of a year once stated that Arrow Stage Lines had a 98% Equipment Satisfaction rating over all 250 pieces of equipment across the entire company. That is a very good percentage for any rating, but it is especially impressive for motorcoaches. “We know that preventative maintenance and good ethical practices are what keep our motorcoaches on the road with very few issues,” said Arrow Stage Lines Director of Maintenance, Gene Wordekemper. “There are so many different issues that may arise on a motorcoach. Whether engine problems, drivetrain issues, or even the wifi. We make sure every corner gets inspected and tested before going on a trip to ensure it is in perfect working order, because we know that is the service expected from our customers.” Arrow Stage Lines has a pretty impressive track record when it comes to maintenance. You could book over 130 motorcoaches from Arrow and never experience a breakdown of any kind. One other impressive stat is that during rare disruptions, trips were only delayed 90 minutes. This statistic is very impressive because...
