Background

Founded in 1928 by Carl Busskohl in Norfolk, Nebraska, Arrow Stage Lines is a company that was and is still operated on the principles of integrity and profound respect for each and every customer and employee. As with most start up businesses, Carl started small when he was awarded a mail contract between Norfolk, Nebraska and Sioux City, Iowa. People soon asked Carl if they could ride with him in his 7 passenger stretch Buick sedan between the two destinations. He agreed and began charging his customers 75 cents each way. Such was the beginning of Norfolk, Nebraska based Arrow Stage Lines. Soon after this humble beginning, Carl was awarded the Sioux City Journal newspaper delivery to Norfolk as well as the Old Home Bread contract. Steady business expansion led to the purchase of a new 25 passenger Superior bus. To make room to carry bread and mail between Sioux City and Norfolk, Carl took out the 10 back seats. Business continued on a steady course until the start of World War II. Responding to the increased demand for passenger service during the war, Carl purchased Flexible 25 and 29 passenger coaches with Chevrolet and Buick engines. 80 years later, Arrow Stage Lines in one of the largest family owned motorcoach companies in the United States with over 170 modern and luxurious motorcoaches.
